MEET OUR TEAM
Dr. Allison Thompson, DmD
Growing up in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Dr. Thompson is a proud graduate of the College of Charleston for undergrad, and Medical University of South Carolina for her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Her main reason for becoming a dentist is personal—her own journey to correct peg lateral incisors adjacent to her front teeth involved years of orthodontic care. So she has a special appreciation for what smile transformation can do for a person’s confidence. After completing a one-year AEGD residency program—Advanced Education in General Dentistry—Dr. Thompson moved to Atlanta with her husband, Kip, who is a native of the Big Peach. They live in Brookhaven with their adorable twin daughters, Avery and Kaylan. When not at the practice, you’ll find her spending time with friends and family in the great outdoors, traveling and dining out.
Marielle
Patient Coordinator
The first voice you’ll hear when calling the office, Marielle has been in the dental field since 2010, in both clinical and office management capacities. She enjoys building relationships and making sure patients have a great experience. In her spare time, Marielle enjoys long walks on the beach (LOL), traveling the world, attending concerts, and spending time with her husband Brandon, and 12-year-old dachshund, Ryder.
KRISSI
Dental Assistant
With more than 16 years in the dental field, Kristina, also known as Krissi, has spent her career focused on making patients feel comfortable and cared for, especially those who experience anxiety during visits. With a background in multiple specialties, Krissi combines her knowledge with compassionate care and is committed to staying current with continuing education. Outside the office, Krissi is a newlywed who enjoys traveling, learning new languages, and giving back through volunteering and teaching.
Denesia
Dental Hygienist
With more than 10 years of experience as a dental hygienist, Denesia has a passion for helping patients achieve their best oral health. Known for her jovial personality, she creates a welcoming environment where patients feel at ease, even during their first visit.
Denesia’s dedication to her craft goes hand-in-hand with her love for building relationships and connections. Whether educating patients about oral health or sharing a laugh, she ensures every visit is as comfortable as it is thorough.
Outside of work, Denesia enjoys traveling to new destinations and cherishing quality time with her family and friends. Her warm and vibrant energy is reflected both in her professional care and her personal life, making her an integral part of the Palm Branch Dental team.
TANI'YA
Front Desk/Dental Assistant/Rover
Known for her warm personality and great sense of humor, Tani’ya is the newest member to the Palm Branch Dentistry family. After completing her Dental Assistant program in 2018, she has been dedicated to providing exceptional customer support and helping patients achieve their best smiles. Tani'ya is versatile in her role, assisting both at the front desk and chairside with patients, ensuring a positive experience for everyone she interacts with.
Tani’ya is a devoted mother to her 2-year-old daughter and a "dog mom" to her 9-year-old Shih Tzu. She has been happily married to her husband for 12 years. She and her family share a passion for travel and have visited more than 11 countries outside the United States. In her free time, Tani'ya enjoys singing, dancing, cooking, volunteering, and planning parties.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer financing?
Yes, we accept Care Credit. Also for any procedures that require lab time (crowns, Occlusal Guards, partials, implant crowns, etc.) as long as you pay ½ at the time of impression, we can take payments however you’d like as long as the full amount is paid on or before the seat date.
Do you file insurance?
We do file all PPO dental plans on your behalf as an out of network provider. We take your estimated patient portion at the time of service and if insurance pays less or more than expected we will reach out for payment or to give you a refund for any overpayment.
What Insurance do you accept?
All PPO Dental Plans,using the out of network benefits. If you have a copy of your insurance card, we are happy to look into your specific coverage and give you a more accurate cost estimate.
How much is this going to cost?
If you have dental insurance we are happy to look into your specific plan for an estimate or send a predetermination to find out the exact cost.
What is the dentist’s name?
Dr. Allison Thompson (formerly the office of Dr. Angelo Kliossis. He retired in June of 2023)
Do you have appointments on Fridays or weekends?
No, our normal business hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm. We offer early morning appointments to allow patients to come in before work or school.
Do you have availability around 10am?
Yes we do!
Do you have availability after 3pm?
Our last appointment is typically booked at 2:30 pm, but we do offer early morning appointments. Would a 7:30 am work for you?

How long can I wait to do my treatment?
The cavity is the smallest it will ever be at this moment and will only get worse over time. We recommend getting treatment done at your earliest convenience to prevent it turning into a larger and more expensive problem to fix.
